Desktop Support Field Tech-Apple PC
Specific duties include but are not limited to the following: •Address user tickets regarding hardware, software, and networking (ServiceNow) •Ask targeted questions to diagnose problems (Hardware & Software) •Provide in and out of warranty hardware and software break/fix activities on a variety of computing devices, including but not limited to removal and replacement of system boards, LCD Displays, HDD, keyboards, RAM, OS imaging, BIOS upgrades, etc. •Ability to handle small projects from start to finish with minimal supervision at multiple locations within the City of Chicago. •Troubleshoot typical applications such as Apple OS, Windows, Chromebook OS, Office 365 and other education-centered software and hardware. •Troubleshoot network connectivity issues in a LAN/WAN environment with wired and wireless connections •Perform installs, moves, adds and changes (IMACs) •Troubleshoot printing issues for local and network printers •Follow proper disposal procedures and policies. •Identify needed parts to support completing repairs and manage parts inventory •Follow up with clients to ensure their systems are functional •Clearly document technical issues, troubleshooting steps and solutions in ticketing system •Support teammates by sharing knowledge, providing feedback, and assisting with follow-up tasks •Update, monitor, track, and close ticket lifecycle information within ITSM Ticketing system (ServiceNow). •Other tasks as required
General Requirements: Proven work experience in Desktop Support / Technical Support with Mac OS, Windows/Chromebook environments Working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, like printers and scanners Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs Friendly presence and helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well with others. Strong organization skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent customer service, professional written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills Clean driving record and dependable transportation
